A website migration in 6 languages redirected 356 of 373 old URLs to relevant pages

The problem

Keeping relevant content accessible to search visitors was a core requirement of the migration. When the website moved from WordPress to a new platform in July 2026, 373 old URLs missing from the sitemap needed to be matched to relevant new pages.

Keeping the existing content accessible required accounting for the website’s multilingual scope. The site covered 6 languages, with 22 treatment pages in each language and 204 blog posts. Verifying academic titles and claims against supporting documents was also part of the content work.

The approach

   We migrated content in six languages

   We structured the Turkish, English, Russian, Arabic, French and German content on the new website. The migration included 22 treatment pages in each of the 6 languages and 204 blog posts.

   We matched old URLs to relevant content

   We permanently redirected 356 of the 373 URLs missing from the sitemap to relevant new pages. We checked whether the 120 pages receiving the most traffic in Search Console loaded after the migration.

3. 03

   We added interactive content and an assistant

   We published 10 interactive eye test pages, including a colour blindness test. We added an AI assistant and a GTM tracking package to the website.

   We verified academic information against documents

   We created an academic credentials page containing 64 documents. We verified the published titles and claims against those documents.

The result

Continued access to older content was supported by permanent redirects from 356 of the 373 URLs missing from the sitemap to relevant new pages. This covered approximately 95% of those old URLs. Of the 120 pages receiving the most traffic in Search Console, 119 loaded successfully after the migration.

New content contributing to search visibility expanded the website’s scope across 6 languages. Among the 10 interactive eye tests published, the colour blindness test received 108 clicks in 90 days from the Turkish search query “renk körlüğü testi”, meaning “colour blindness test”. The AI assistant, academic credentials page and GTM tracking were also added to the website.
