Does a polished AI advertisement also build trust?
An advertisement can look impressive without feeling authentic. This Turkish-language study explores that difference through viewer interviews: favourable reactions to visual quality do not necessarily come with strong trust or emotional connection. DijitalPi recommends asking what an advertisement makes people think about the brand, alongside whether they like its appearance. A small interview study cannot establish how every customer will respond or whether sales will change.

Editorial review draft
The source has been checked; the review still carries its original editorial status. DijitalPi did not conduct a customer experiment for this paper.
LET'S READ THE RESEARCH TOGETHER
We first explain the researchers' question, method and findings. We then discuss how to interpret the results, clearly separating DijitalPi's commentary from the source.
01 / WHAT DID THE RESEARCHERS WANT TO UNDERSTAND?
Does visual quality translate into brand trust?
The study explores brand perceptions of AI advertising.
Explaining the context · DijitalPi commentary
DijitalPi explanation: Professional-looking production and belief in a brand are different judgements. A communication plan should state which judgement it aims to change.
02 / HOW WAS THE RESEARCH CONDUCTED?
How did they test the question?
Thirteen convenience-sampled participants gave semi-structured interviews, analysed by theme.
Understanding the method · DijitalPi commentary
DijitalPi explanation: Interviews help reveal reasons. They do not turn participant views into percentages for the entire market, and an interview answer is not a completed order.
03 / RESEARCH FINDINGS
Liking and trusting are separate.
Technical quality was viewed positively, while perceived artificiality could limit trust and emotional connection.
DijitalPi commentary: Keep production-quality scores separate from audience perceptions. A person can admire the imagery while remaining distant from the brand.
Include selection reasons in the next creative presentation, so the customer question behind the choice remains visible.
05 / CONCLUSION AND OPEN QUESTIONS
What did we learn, and what do we still not know?
This small qualitative study does not measure sales impact.
Our question: which scenes confuse or distance your audience? Investigate that using your own content.
We created these scenarios to make the topic concrete. They are not cases from the paper or measured client results.
EXAMPLE 01
Product film: a realistic expectation?
AI imagery may make the product look different from the actual item.
Is what viewers like really what you sell?
Open the recommendation for example 01+
Check product expectations.
Ask target viewers to describe the product in their own words. Compare expectations about size, materials and use with verified information. Revise misleading scenes instead of choosing only by visual appeal.
EXAMPLE 02
Brand film: memorable images, forgotten brand
Viewers like the film but do not remember the brand.
Did they remember the imagery or the promise?
Open the recommendation for example 02+
Ask about the message separately.
Ask for the brand name and product promise after viewing. Record scenes that feel authentic or distant. Keep both positive and negative reasons in the review.
EXAMPLE 03
Agency presentation: choosing by taste
The team ranks options using its own aesthetic preferences.
Which customer decision should the film support?

Write selection criteria first.
Record message understanding, brand recall and product fit separately. Distinguish staff opinions from audience feedback. This proposed review is not a sales-impact experiment.
TRY IT WITH YOUR TEAM
Ask three separate questions about one advertisement.
What did you see, what did you think about the brand, and what product promise did you understand? Record the answers separately. These are proposed DijitalPi checks, not a completed client study.
