Turkey's AI agency market represents a small share of broader digital agency search demand. The same queries combine people looking to hire an agency with those considering starting one. This analysis measures search volume, results-page composition and Google Maps visibility to examine what the label represents online.

Summary: Queries around the Turkish term for “AI agency” produce approximately 270 monthly searches, compared with 1,600 for “digital agency” and 1,000 for “digital advertising agency”. The principal query returned only 2 businesses in Maps under the measurement conditions. Queries seeking the best providers more commonly surfaced third-party lists and Google AI Overview features than agencies' own pages.

Method

The study uses Google data obtained through DataForSEO, with Turkey as the country, Turkish as the language and location code 2792. Search volumes were examined over a 90-day window. DijitalPi conducted the measurement on 26 August 2026.

Three layers were examined together: estimated monthly volumes for related queries, content types in Google results and business listings in Google Maps. This allowed analysis of both demand and the intentions and results associated with it.

The figures have limitations. Search volumes are estimates derived from Google data, not exact counters. They do not represent customers, quotation requests, contracts or purchases. They indicate how often particular expressions are searched.

Maps results vary by searcher location, device and conditions at the time. They are not a fixed census of businesses across Turkey. AI Overview features were detected, but their answer text could not be read during measurement. No conclusions were therefore drawn about cited sources or named businesses.

The AI Agency Query Cluster Generates About 270 Searches a Month

The four measured queries total approximately 270 monthly searches. The main expression accounts for 170, while the others concern automation, advertising and the agency business model. These figures describe search behaviour, not prospective customer counts.

Original Turkish queryEstimated monthly volume
yapay zeka ajansı (AI agency)170
yapay zeka otomasyon ajansı (AI automation agency)40
yapay zeka reklam ajansı (AI advertising agency)30
yapay zeka ajans modeli (AI agency model)30
Cluster totalApproximately 270

The main query's estimated cost per click was approximately USD 1.27. CPC indicates competition in Google's advertising auctions. It does not directly measure service prices, company budgets or a visitor's probability of purchasing.

The distribution suggests an emerging category label whose demand has not converged on one service definition. Users may be interested in automation, advertising or establishing an agency. The total therefore combines different purposes.

AI-Labelled Demand Is a Small Part of the Wider Agency Market

The Turkish queries for “digital agency” and “digital advertising agency” receive around 1,600 and 1,000 monthly searches respectively, compared with about 270 across the measured AI cluster. The AI label attracts interest but represents a smaller share of agency-related search demand.

This does not mean the markets are entirely separate. A business seeking automation, content production or advertising optimisation may not mention AI in its query. Established category terms may capture some AI-supported needs.

Conversely, an AI-related search does not necessarily indicate intent to hire. Education, research and interest in business models may also contribute. Treating all 270 searches as a pool of commercial opportunities would overstate the evidence.

The narrower conclusion is that the label exists, attracts searches and has developed subtopics, but has not reached the volume of established agency terminology.

The Same Query Contains Two Different Intentions

Results reveal two main audiences: businesses seeking a provider and entrepreneurs wanting to establish an agency. Agency-model queries, startup guides and videos about new business opportunities make the second intention visible. One page may struggle to satisfy both equally.

Prospective clients want to understand service scope, implementation, sector fit and how to assess a provider. Prospective founders want to understand the business model, service packaging and market entry. Similar wording can therefore conceal very different expected answers.

This affects rankings. A service page may compete with startup guides, and business-model content may outrank an agency seeking clients. Rankings then reflect Google's interpretation of intent as well as relevance; they are not a direct ranking of commercial competence.

Volume alone is therefore insufficient. Without separating intent, market estimates can exaggerate accessible commercial demand.

Google Maps Category Visibility Is Limited

The AI agency query returned 2 businesses in Maps, while “digital marketing agency” returned more than 20 in the same area. Under these conditions, the newer label did not produce a broad group of local listings. Result counts do not measure service quality or actual business activity.

Several explanations are possible. Relevant businesses may offer these services without using the wording clearly in their profiles. They may identify as software, advertising, consulting or branding businesses. The measurement does not establish which explanation is correct.

This also shows that organic query demand and local-listing density are different measures. A searched expression can have limited Maps coverage. The 2 listings are results for the specified query and conditions, not a national provider count.

Google Had No Business Category with This Name in the Measurement

The measured Google Business Profile category list did not include a direct “AI agency” category. The 2 visible listings used “Software Company” and “Branding Agency”. Under those conditions, AI positioning had to be explained through descriptions and services rather than a matching primary category.

This may be one structural reason for limited Maps visibility. New market terminology does not necessarily become an independent category in Google's classification immediately.

A profile consequently communicates through two layers. The chosen category identifies an established activity, while descriptions and service entries explain AI-related work. Similar providers can therefore appear under different category labels.

A small direct-query result set does not prove there are only that many providers. The safer interpretation is that the positioning was not fully reflected in the measured category structure.

Third-Party Lists Lead Queries Seeking the Best Providers

For comparative queries focused on Istanbul or AI marketing, many leading results were third-party lists rather than agencies' own pages. Users could encounter an intermediary comparison before reaching an individual provider.

These lists respond to comparative intent: users may want several options together, a quick market overview or an externally compiled shortlist.

High rankings do not guarantee editorial accuracy, currency or neutrality. Selection criteria, inclusion practices and commercial relationships need separate examination. Search order itself is not a service-quality ranking.

The pattern distinguishes direct provider visibility from visibility through comparison sources. Intermediary content can frame the decision before a prospective client reaches an agency.

AI Overview Appeared in All Three “Best Provider” Queries

All three examined queries seeking the best providers displayed an AI Overview feature. This indicates that part of the answer was offered before an organic-result click. Since its contents could not be read, the study cannot identify cited sources or assessments made in those answers.

The feature adds another layer to conventional ranking visibility. Users may encounter an AI summary, then list articles, then agency pages, so the experience extends beyond the order of links.

The measurement does not demonstrate effects on behaviour. There are no data here on click-through rates, source selection or answer accuracy. Presence only establishes that Google displayed a synthesis feature for those queries at that time.

Visibility analysis should therefore consider results-page composition alongside organic positions. An AI answer or third-party list may be the first touchpoint even when a provider ranks near the top.

What Does This Mean?

For a business hiring a provider, the category label alone is not a sufficient selection criterion. Search demand is limited, intent is split and Maps categories are fragmented. Assess the business process addressed and the actual service scope rather than relying on AI wording in a profile.

Prominent lists also require scrutiny. Inclusion is not evidence of measured performance. Check whether criteria are disclosed, information is current and descriptions match the provider's own account. AI Overview can be a starting point, but this study did not assess the accuracy of its answers.

For entrepreneurs, approximately 270 monthly searches do not represent 270 ready customers. Some searchers may themselves be researching the business model. Keyword volume alone is an unreliable basis for estimating sales demand.

Limited Maps visibility likewise does not prove an empty or easy market. Providers may be classified under other labels. Search volume, intent, service scope and intermediary content must be assessed together.

The findings show different levels of maturity between established digital agency terminology and the emerging AI label. They document demand and visibility as measured in August 2026; they do not promise market growth.

How to Repeat the Measurement

  • Set DataForSEO to Turkey and Turkish, and record the actual measurement date; the original study used 26 August 2026.
  • Measure the AI agency cluster and compare it under the same settings with the original 1,600-volume digital agency benchmark.
  • Separate hiring intent from agency-startup intent when interpreting the original total of approximately 270 searches per month.
  • Capture results using consistent country, language and measurement-window settings, marking third-party lists and AI Overview separately for “best” queries.
  • Query Maps and record returned businesses. The original result was 2; a new measurement may differ by location and time.
  • Document that volumes are estimates, that no matching category was found in the original measurement and that the AI Overview text was not available for assessment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How often is “AI agency” searched in Turkey?

The measured Turkish main query had an estimated 170 monthly searches. Including automation, advertising and agency-model variants brought the cluster to about 270. These estimates use a 90-day window and do not count customers.

Is this market bigger than the digital agency market?

Not by the measured search volumes: 1,600 for digital agency and 1,000 for digital advertising agency, compared with around 270 across the AI-labelled cluster. This compares query demand, not company revenue or contract value.

Why do so few businesses appear in Maps?

The measured query returned 2 listings compared with more than 20 for the comparison query. The lack of a directly matching category is relevant, and providers may appear under other categories. Searcher location also affects results.

Are ranking lists enough to choose an agency?

No. They can introduce options, but rank does not prove service quality. Review selection criteria, currency and commercial disclosures. AI Overview does not remove the need for independent verification.
